BOOYAH? That's right
folks, it's that time again, time for the second annual Fannie Awards!
This time, we are looking at the best of the best for the year 2006, and
there are quite a few to choose from this year. Over 1000 brand new
stories have been added just in the last year, and that's without the
show producing new episodes. I think that just shows how strong this
community truly is. Now though, with new episodes set to hit the
airwaves starting February 10th (just hoping that includes Canada),
interest is only going to increase. That doesn't mean that this past
year didn't produce some amazing stories.
So let's get to what this is all about! You, the
people, are the ones that decide who wins each and every award! Make
your selections on the handy list I'm providing below. Any story written
or contributed to in the year is eligible to win, with one exception.
Those stories and writers who won last year can not win again this year,
though the awards for Best Writer and Best Series can be the previous
winners again after 2 years. This is to help open up the field for
everyone to have a chance. See the list below for all the details.

This year, one category has been removed, due to lack of interest. Best
Songfic (guess I won't be repeating the win there this year lol) has
been removed. We have added 4 new categories though, thanks to the votes
of the Fannie Awards commitee. These include Best Villain, Best AU, Best
Original Character Name, and Best Single Line. All 4 were fully endorsed
by the group, and I hope you will embrace them as well.
Voting ended at 11:59 pm EST on January
31st, 2007. Final nominations should be up soon. The awards show will then start Saturday, February 17th,
after all votes have been tabulated, award winner speeches submitted and
added, and all the details are finalized.
On a final note, I would like to thank those helping me with putting
this event together this year. Mattb3671, the ever zany and crazy
co-host, Commander Argus, webmaster supreme, and the newest member of
the awards group, Triaxx. This is made possible thanks to their
assistance.
So there you have it folks. Place your votes, and get ready for the
party! I'm just hoping Nooni doesn't hear that I'm taking Bonnie this
year instead of her.
